Write a “Bad News” E-mail~
You are the addressee of this hypothetical e-mail, which is written in response to your own cover letter and résumé. Imagine that you have received your own job application. You’ve been mostly impressed with your résumé and cover letter, but you are taking the company or organization in a different direction with your hiring practices. In other words, as a potential employer (or Hiring Manager), you are turning yourself down for the position, and you’re writing an e-mail explaining why. You’re taking the time to write this e-mail because you want to maintain a business relationship with yourself (the applicant) in the event that another, more suitable, position should become available and need filling. Remember to adopt your reader’s values, and an appropriate tone.

This e-mail should be no more than 200 words.

It should take into consideration all of the material we’ve covered in the textbook in Chapters 3, 4, 5, and 6, in addition to other topics covered in class.

Your task is to frame negative news as positively as possible: to leave your reader feeling good about their application, while fully understanding why they will not be interviewed/hired.

You must:
