Assignment 8 Signature Assignment – Application of HR in the Global Environment
For the signature assignment, you are to assume the role of a Human Resource Generalist for your organization. An important goal as a generalist is to help senior

management to understand the impact of globalization on your business operations and make them aware of how HR functions, such as hiring overseas, can be impacted. As

the human capital component can be affected by the environment of the global marketplace, communicating these issues to leadership is a valuable skill for current and

future HR professionals as well as the implementation of key responsibilities.

Completion of this assignment requires you to submit the assignment as you typically would in the course as well as in the Taskstream system. The Taskstream submission

is a grade requirement and is due at the same time as the course submission. Within the MBA program you will submit a number of activities that are both graded by your

faculty member and scored according to various rubrics. The rubric score is used to assess how well the activity assignment aligns with specific program goals. The

rubric score is not a grade; the score assesses attributes related to MBA Program Learning Outcomes. The scoring of the assignment is for school purposes only. Your

Due to the globalization of business operations, management teams have become very serious in retaining and promoting the right person for overseas positions. You have

just been told to hire a new manager for your company’s Scandinavian division. Describe in detail the most important skills and qualifications considered essential for

overseas assignments, particularly in these countries.

Also explain in detail some of the challenging issues and prospects of doing business abroad. Hypothesize the most important information you would be sure to

communicate to HR managers as well as the senior leadership team. Provide specific examples where possible to detail your plan for this initial hiring for the

Scandinavian division.

Support your paper with a minimum of five (5) resources, which may include your required text. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly

resources, including older articles, may be included.
