Setup
The video clip from the film Jerry Maguire provides a look at an individual questioning the mission and values of his organization Sports Management International (SMI). He begins to write “THE THINGS WE THINK AND DO NOT SAY (The Future of Our Business)” a broad statement about what he feels is wrong with SMI and how it might be improved. In this new mission statement he redefines what the mission of SMI should be and in the process proposes a new set of values and a more inspirational vision and purpose for the company.
