You should use your own interpretation of these concepts rather than verbatim quotes from the key texts; do not forget to acknowledge your sources with references in text. Describe how these characteristics give users and organisations new tools, experiences or encourage particular forms of behaviour or patterns of media consumption. For instance, do not forget to reflect about topics such as Fix & Flux, gate keeping, the death of the author and remediation. This is not an exhaustive list so keep your eyes open when reading about the characteristics and feel free to expand this part of your analysis with a thorough examination of these kinds of issues.
Fourth Step – Discussion (800 words long)
In this final part you should explain how the chosen New Medium deepens or attenuate/lessen the prevalence of two of these trends:
• Concentration
• Fragmentation/Personalisation
• Convergence
• Digital Divide
• Information/communication freedom
Bear in mind that part of your aim is not only to explain what these so called trends are, but also to describe how your website (new medium) reinforces or lessen these phenomena.
Other important requisites
– Your website is your tool/device to illustrate any of the points that you want to make throughout the report. Failure to explain how the different characteristics, topics, phenomena relate to your website will be heavily penalised. In a more general sense, the aim of the task is to show your ability to apply theory to a particular case (website) – in other words to use theory or professional literature to analyse a case (website) and come up with plausible conclusions.
Your report must be 2.800 words long, 10% over this limit will not be penalised.
*My presentation is going to be uploaded named as MY PRESENTATION. The report should be based on my presentation.
The research is has to be from UK websites and the references should be in a Harvard UK style.
