A. To phase in the new electronic medical record, staff will need to be trained on the use of the new system, become comfortable with it before other staff are

trained. These staff will be considered as ‘super-users’ of the new system and will be the resources for the remaining staff. These staff will need to be available for

teaching of the new systems to be used.
B. ‘Super-users’ will be available for each shift to assist each staff member with becoming comfortable with using the new system. They will not take a patient

load, so that they are free to provide documentation assistance when needed, in the first 2 weeks of the implementation period, or longer depending on the needs of the

staff.
C. Assessing use of current computer software and system compatibility.

IV. Implementation of change
A. Supply staff with concrete dates on introduction of the electronic medical record to daily process. Utilize timeline at this stage for implementation
B. Monitor staffs response to change and assist with moving forward with change process.
C. Monitor system for effectiveness and functional ability.
D. Allow for staff to practice on sample charting system before live introduction.
