Who resisted Hitler, why did the resistance movement strengthen over time, and what were the overall strengths and weaknesses of the resistance movement in and outside of Nazi Germany? Use your analysis of at least three documents. Paper must also quote from 203-14 in the Bergen book. Do you agree with Doris Bergen’s definition of resistance (on pp. 203-04 of her book) in light of your study of primary and secondary sources on the topic?

2. Frequency of source citations: paper should have at least two source citations per page, but no more than 7-8 total per page. Citations from, primary sources must appear in the essay.

3. Source citation format: please use parenthetical citations. To quote a primary source, use this format (Hitler, cited in Williamson, p. 168). To cite a secondary source, (Bergen, p. 100).
