PURPOSE
The purpose of this assignment is to
• familiarize students with the concept of test plans;
• identify issues that have implications for the practice of nursing informatics; and
• acquaint the student with methods to develop test plans.
COURSE OUTCOMES
This assignment facilitates the student achievement of the following course outcomes:
(CO 1) Synthesize conclusions on the application of information-workflow concepts and the information-system-life-cycle in real-world settings.
Develop a test plan for an information system within your setting. If you are an educator, consider a system that might be used to maintain student records; if you a clinician, consider a clinical information

system that would be appropriate for your setting; or, if you are an administrator, consider a system, or changes to that system, that you would like to acquire and install. Develop a test plan that considers

scope, schedule, acceptable deliverables, resources (human, hardware, software, network and/or other equipment, space, budget), risks, and contingencies. Project-management software may be used to

show tasks or a work breakdown schedule, dependent tasks, and timelines; although, this information may be addressed solely within the text.

PREPARING THE PAPER
1. An introduction that presents the topic and describes how the paper is organized.
2. Paper is comprehensive to include scope, schedule, acceptable deliverables, resources (human, hardware, software, network and/or other equipment, space, budget), risks, and contingencies.
3. A conclusion that presents insights gained from working on the assignment.
4. A minimum of three scholarly references, excluding course textbooks, is required. Course texts may be used as additional references.
5. Use APA 6th edition for title page, format of the paper, tables, citations, references, and appendix.
6. Ideas and information from professional sources must be cited correctly.
7. Grammar, spelling, punctuation, and citations are consistent with formal academic writing.
