Each nation has its own law, regulating its relations and transactions and necessarily, each law has different

provisions and level of completeness according to time and place. Despite the difference between these laws in

all aspects, the concept behind them is the same: law is essential for the existence of the community and

regulation of life; and hence it is called the “Master of the universe”.
I have been born and grown up in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is governed by the Islamic jurisprudence

and so I decided to study Islamic law in Imam Mohamed bin Saud Islamic University. After graduation, I joined

the legal division of Saad Alnogither Installment Sale Establishment as a part-timer. This had been the first

job, which introduced me to the practical legal work and from which I gained experience and knowledge. As my

work did not require regular attendance, I decided to utilize my free time in increasing my academic knowledge

and so I joined the Master Degree Law Program at the Higher Judicial Institute, which organizes legal and

administrative training programs for the Saudi judges. During my study at the Higher Judicial Institute I had

been nominated for a judicial job, but as I had been driven by a sincere desire to finish my academic course I

declined from the job. After obtaining the master degree in law, I worked as a lecturer in the same institute,

which I hoped would make me more involved in research and reading and having more access to the latest

developments in the legal and judicial fields in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I also worked as a part-time

legal consultant for the Food and Entertainment Investment Company and a lawyer in one of the most prominent

law firms in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is office of Attorner Fahad AlSaad Advocates. These jobs gave

me the opportunity to combine both the theoretical and practical legal experiences. To gain more knowledge I

joined a professional diploma program for training lawyers, although that might not benefit me in practical

legal life but just for more academic knowledge.
I perceive law, as means for achieving justice. Within my position as a lawyer, I believe that I have to

contribute to achieving this objective and so I used to provide free legal consultation for those who cannot

afford the attorneys’ fees in order to defend their rights.
In my belief, study of law shall not be confined to the study of the present, but to explore and study the

potential and expected situations also. Driven of eagerness to have more legal knowledge, I decided to follow

up my academic study in a country, having advanced and established legal system. I am interested in trade

agencies issue, where a local agent is dealing in a foreign product. I am keen to know more about this issue

and its different types and practice in different countries and explore the experiences in different cultures.

My purpose behind this study is to contribute to the development of my country in the academic and legal

fields.
I decided to apply for study in the United Kingdom and in particular in the University of Manchester for the

PHD degree in law for many reasons, of which:
First: The United Kingdom is a pioneering and an exemplar country in legal practice.
Second: The University of Manchester has a unique and vast academic reputation.
Third: Studying in another environment, different from my own, will be a beneficial and fruitful experience,

which will widen and enrich my academic future.
I hope that my PHD study at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom will be an advanced step

towards entering the wonderful legal world.
